When You Think “I Can’t Handle It”

Panic attacks feel terrifying — but what if your body’s signals weren’t the enemy?
Interoceptive exposures are a powerful tool used in therapy to help retrain your brain’s response to those intense body sensations — like dizziness, racing heart, or shortness of breath.

Instead of avoiding them, you intentionally bring them on in a safe setting to teach your brain:
“This is just a sensation. I’m not in danger.”

This is how people break free from the fear of panic attacks — not by getting rid of sensations, but by no longer fearing them.

It’s uncomfortable, but it’s also freedom.

I also rely heavily on the work of the Arbinger institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose our life's direction.
